- The
"hit" that people experience from an espresso
compared with a normal coffee depends on the way we drink it,
rather than the caffeine content; because we take longer to
drink a larger cup of coffee, our bodies don't feel the
immediate rush, although we are in fact getting more caffeine
than with an espresso "shot".
If you are trying to cut your caffeine intake it's better to drink
espresso - or a double espresso, perhaps - even though it will seem
a big caffeine indulgence.
